I’m Ruth Redman.
I’m a trained and experienced Actor, Audiobook Narrator and Voice Actor. I work from my home studio and I’d be delighted to provide you with a voice for your project in Audiobooks, Corporate narration, E-learning, Commercial or Documentary reads.

Don't we all love being told a good yarn?
That sense of intimacy, comfort and shared experience is something we human beings have needed and created forever. And we love to tell them. The cosy campfire under the stars, the blazing hearth, the pub on a stormy night.. so many settings for that universally comforting ritual of sharing stories that transport us to the realms of imagination and feed our souls…
To be the voice in your ear is a glorious experience. To have freedom from the visual, just using the voice to engage others with a gripping tale, a witty and diverting comedy or a thought provoking dilemma, to create characters and tell stories.
It’s what I love to do. I work mostly from my Home Studio and love the freedom that gives me.
I had a great vocal training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. I use it every day. Since then I’ve learned from Helen Lloyd, Sean Pratt, Johnny Heller, Scott Brick, Yvonne Morley and Nicola Redman as well as from the many Directors in Theatre and TV I have been privileged to be cast by, and of course some of the wonderful actors I have shared the stage with.
I take part in training courses and webinars whenever I get the chance, to learn more and become a better storyteller..

The exciting prospect of acting without being confined by the visual means that the actor gets to practice their vocal craft at the highest level. By conveying the mood, emotion and journey of a character entirely through the voice, the exploration and realisation of text is demanding and exhilarating. I bring my training and experience of acting into the booth and love the opportunity to work in that intense ‘forensic’ way to perform Drama so intimately to the listener as a solo performer and as part of a cast.
